Hello Hawks! The 2023-2024 will mark my 18th year as a school counselor and my 8th year here at Holly Springs. I am very proud and honored to say  that our School Counseling Program holds national recognition from the American School Counselors Association, (ASCA), as a RAMP School of Distinction . RAMP stands for Regocnized ASCA Model Program. The RAMP title is earned by school counseling programs that are data-driven and comprehensive. Holly Springs is the first elementary school in the Douglas County School System to earn RAMP. It is a regocnition that Holly Springs will hold for the next 5 years; 2022-2027.

Holly Springs Elementary provides a comprehensive and developmental counseling program for students in all grade levels. This program is designed to meet student needs by promoting and supporting personal, social, emotional and academic growth.

Aspects of the counseling program include classroom guidance, small group counseling, individual counseling, and consultation with school staff and parents.

  • Whole Group Counseling:  Whole group lessons are developmental in design and address the social and emotional needs of students with topics such as resilience, bullying, manners, responsibility, etc.
  • Small Group Counseling: Small group counseling provides a small group learning environment with students who may share a common concern, such as divorce, grief and loss, friendship skills, etc.
  • Individual Counseling: Individual counseling consists of working with individual students to help meet specific needs. Administrators, teachers, and parents/guardians may refer students for individual counseling. Students may also refer themselves.
  • Consultation: The school counselor consults and collaborates with parents, teachers, administration, and other significant school personnel to provide support and promote student success.
