Kremena Clayton

Hello My Name Is...

Kremena Clayton

My name is Kremena Clayton and I'm originally from the country of Bulgaria. I’ve always been attracted to foreign countries and languages. Earning my first Bachelor's Degree in International Tourism and Hospitality allowed me the opportunity to travel and meet people from all over the world. During one of my work assignments I met my husband, Rodney, who is a Carroll County native. We have two beautiful children: a 13-year-old boy, who is a 8th grader at CHMS, and an inquisitive 7-year-old girl, who is attending Holly Springs as a 3rd grader. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, exploring different cuisines, and spending time with family and friends.

I come from a family of educators, and having my own family sparked my passion for kids -- to teach and to mentor them while exploring new avenues of learning.  Besides being a mother, I believe there’s no more honorable and rewarding role than to be an educator. I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. I’ve taught various grades in the last few years (Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st) and this is my second year as a 2nd grade teacher at Holly Springs.

I love the quote, “Fair isn’t everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful.” The most important concept in my teaching philosophy is that I try to recognize the uniqueness of each child with his or her individual educational needs. I also believe that by setting positive expectations and treating students with respect give students the opportunity to feel empowered to make decisions on their own.

I am excited to make this the best school year yet! Go Hawks!
