My name is Kremena Clayton, and I’ve been teaching for over 10 years. I am originally from Bulgaria and I have always been drawn to foreign languages, cultures, and the opportunity to connect with people from around the world. I earned my first degree in International Tourism and Hospitality, which allowed me to travel extensively, meet people from diverse backgrounds, and gain valuable experiences working within different communities. During one of my work assignments, I met my husband, and together we are raising our two amazing children: Alex, a senior at Chapel High School, and our curious and energetic daughter, Bella, who is in middle school.

Coming from a family of educators, I have always admired the profound impact teachers have on shaping young lives. Becoming a mother deepened my passion for children and inspired me to pursue a second degree in Early Childhood Education from University of West Georgia. I currently teach second grade at Holly Springs Elementary School, where I strive to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every student. I believe there is no more meaningful and rewarding profession than teaching because it allows me to inspire children to learn, grow, and believe in themselves.

My pedagogical priorities extend far beyond academics. In addition to teaching knowledge and skills, I hope to help my students become kind, respectful, confident, and compassionate individuals who are not afraid to dream big. One of my favorite quotes by Rick Riordan is: “Fair is not everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need to be successful.” I strongly believe every child deserves individualized support, encouragement, and the opportunity to thrive. My goal is for students to leave my classroom not only more knowledgeable, but also more confident, courageous, and empowered. Children may not remember every lesson we teach them, but they will always remember how we made them feel.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling, exploring different cuisines, reading, personal growth, and spending meaningful time with my family. I continuously seek opportunities to grow both professionally and personally because I believe great educators are lifelong learners. One of my greatest points of pride is building strong relationships with my students and their families and having the opportunity to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children every day.
