Holly Springs Elementary
PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
May 2022
Dear Holly Hawk Families,
The final countdown has begun as we enter into our last month of school. Whether it is the end of your baby's first year at Holly or their last, this year will be momentous for all of us. We have survived and succeeded in the midst of not knowing at times from one day to the next what may come our way. Our students, staff, and families have been resilient and flexible to make this year the absolute best despite it's challenges. As this week is officially "Teacher Appreciation Week", I hope we can truly appreciate our teachers for the countless hours they have dedicated to serving our community and your child. In the coming weeks, we want to celebrate you and your student through our awards days, celebrations, and family picnics. We hope you can join us!
We have so many things to celebrate this month and information to share. Below you will find:
- Teacher Appreciation Week information from PTA for next week. Link to your child's teacher's favorite things (on slide 2): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1tViOb04_Pjhjyx6pa3Mv1MLx8Gctl9YeYZ9-wifFcV8/present
- Avid Dress Up Days for College and Career Awareness (Hopefully your teacher's favorite color is a bright one to serve as both!)
- Kindergarten sight word champions
- CHMS Transition Meeting for 5th Grade Parents
- Young Georgia Author Winner for the District
- Dates/Times for Awards and Other Upcoming Events.
Thank you so much for donating snacks for our 3rd - 5th Grade students during GMAS! As always, we are so fortunate to be well supported by our parents! One final reminder: please send students with a refillable water bottle each day. We have a refilling station for them to use during the day and are running low on disposable water bottles for students. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ms. Trexler, Principal
From the PTA:
I hope everyone is doing well. This is a friendly reminder that Teachers/Staff appreciation week is next week. Monday, May 2- Friday, May 6th. We thank all our teachers for their hard work throughout the year especially during weeks like GMAS. Below is a link with a slide presentation with some suggestions to share with your child (Bottom portion of the calendar is what PTA will be doing). There is also a link to a survey with teachers' likes and dislikes - slide 2. Any questions please feel free to contact Mrs Hampton with the PTA. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1tViOb04_Pjhjyx6pa3Mv1MLx8Gctl9YeYZ9-wifFcV8/present
In addition, we would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Williams for their generosity. They've reached out to make and donate benches for our school's reading garden.
